I have heard a lot of good things about animator Satoshi Kon's films and decided to start out watching Paprika (2006). It's an unusual film since it deals with a machine that allows outsiders to enter people's dreams. As such there are some freaky dream landscapes. Things go awry when the machine is stolen and it is up to an later ego dream therapist named Paprika to save the day with Detective Konakawa. I was impressed with the background animation in particular that reflects modern day Tokyo.
