Landscape In The Mist (1988) directed by Greek director Theodoros Angelopoulos that was in the BBC Greatest 100 Foreign Language Films. It was the story of a young girl and boy who set out from Greece to Germany because they believe that their missing father is working there. However, they experience confusion, violation and indifference to their real and imagined needs. Some relief and hope is found in the form of a young man traveling with a theater company, but it is fleeting. The simple power of their need remain together and to go to Germany is, by the end, all that they have. This is classic slow cinema, which I can appreciate when in the right mood, this time around I wasn't as drawn in as I might have been. The film clocks in at over two hours and there is not a lot of action-definitely not for everyone.
