Gene Saks' film adaptation of a play Cactus Flower (1969) was named one of Quentin Tarantino's influences for his latest, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This comedy stars Walter Matthau as Julian, a dentist who tells his girl friends that he's married to keep them from getting serious with him. His latest is Toni (Goldie Hawn) and he falls for her and has to come up with a wife to make it work, so he recruits his lovelorn nurse Stephanie (Ingmar Bergman). It was only mildly entertaining-I don't think it has aged particularly well.
