The Other Side Of The Wind (2018) is a lost film that was never completed by the late Orson Welles. It is something of a mockumentary-experimental film that was directed, co-written, co-produced and co-edited by Welles. It stars actor-director John Huston, Bob Random, director Peter Bogdanovich, Susan Strasberg, and Oja Kodar. Welles started filming in 1970 and worked on it on and off until 1976. Welles continued to work on i t through the 980s, but it became embroiled in legal, financial, and political complications which prevented it from being completed. It is a movie within a movie with Huston as a director screening an unfinished film for a group of friends. It is meant to be a satire of the passing of Old Hollywood and avante garde film makers of Europe. There are some great cinematic set pieces throughout-it is Welles, after all. But I found it lacking overall due to the lack of a cohesive storyline. It all seems rather haphazardly put together.
