Hong-jin Na's 2008 debut, The Chaser, is a very entertaining and well-made thriller that kept me engaged throughout the 2 hours 5 minute running time. Jong-ho Eum is a fallen cop who has been reduced to becoming a pimp, but when a third girl from his agency goes missing-he sets out to investigate. Make no mistake, it is not out of concern for the girl's life, he wants recoup an investment he made in her. He finds himself in a chase with a serial killer who has the third victim, Min-jin (Yeoung-hie Seo) whom is said to be still alive, locked up in a house somewhere in Seoul. There are lots of rainy, neon lit hard boiled scenes as well as several chase scenes on foot throughout the film. I will be on the look out for more films by Na.

I think I had the chance to watch this a while back on Australian on-demand tv but didn't. Shame. Your review came too late.
