Last night I had some street food, a new type of satay (meat skewers) for me-Satay Padang-beef with a spicy thick yellow sauce, but this type, Sate Pariaman has red-colored sauce-that doesn't look red to me though.
Next door to my hotel is Upnormal Coffee Roaster, which is a great space to hang out-roomy, electrical outlets for computers-good coffee and food if needed. This has been my go to hangout space.
I had lunch at an impressively renovated colonial house at Seribu Rasa Menteng.
On the waiter's recommendation I ordered Nasi Sayur Medan: beef rendang, spicy tofu, shrimp stewed vegetables in coconut milk, garnished with fish and peanut condiment, coconut serondeng and sweet potato chip.
When I read that the Textile Museum was housed in an old colonial house I thought I'd give it a visit. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, impressive grounds and exhibits inside.
