I had heard good things about Hulu's new series The Handmaid's Tale (2017) based on Margaret Atwood's novel of the same name. SO I decided to give it a try. It is about a dystopian future where a religious cult has taken over what used to be America and installed a program where fertile women of the lower classes are recruited to provide children for barren elite couples. Actually, the set up is more complicated than this, but this world was well established early in the series. There are excellent production values and cinematic attention to visual details throughout the 10 episode first season (it has been renewed for a second season). There is also great ensemble casting, but the heroine of the series is played by Elisabeth Moss, is a favorite from her work on Mad Men and The Top of the Lake, and one of the reasons I decided to start watching the series. I was very much drawn into this world and watched all 10 (50+ minute) episodes in less than a week.
