I tried to get into Master Of None last year, but gave up after the first episode. But Season 2 was getting rave reviews, so I gave it a second chance and by episode three I was hooked. Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang have created a show that has several clever one off episode from immigrant experiences to the role of religion and use of dating apps. The show looks very good, but like it's spiritual fore bearer, Louie, I don't find it funny-it is often engaging and entertaining but rarely funny. The decision to use his parents and other non-actors, feels somewhat misguided-professionals would pull it off much better. It doesn't look as if there will be another season as Ansari says he has said all that he wants to say about young and single in NY.
