Yasuzo Masumura may have been the only director who was questioning the ethics of the "economic miracle" of the 60s in Japan when Japan was trying to rebuild at any cost. His critique can be seen in movies like Giants and Toys Black Test Car (1962). In this film two rival companies will stoop to all kinds of dirty tactics to get information about each other so that they can get the greater market share for the sales of a new sports car. This is includes blackmail, seduction, and spying.
