Crimson Peak (2015) is the latest nightmare fantasy from Mexican director Guillermo Del Torro. It is the story of a pure Jane Austen-type, Mia Wasikowska, who falls for the dark tormented foreigner played by Tom Hiddleston, however, the problem is that he has a complicated relationship with his psychotic sister-a dark-haired Jessica Chastin. Del Torro has created a spectacular Gothic atmosphere for this film, but I found it less compelling than some of his previous successes such as Pan Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone. Overall, it was an entertaining film nonetheless.
