The Imposter (2012) could have been a better viewing experience if I hadn't already known the story. I read some long form story in a magazine about Frederic Bourdin some time in the 90s. It is a compelling story, but I already knew how it would turn out. The only surprising aspect of the story was that Bourdrin tried to suggest that the family had committed foul play. I think someone uninitiated about the story would probably enjoy the film.
I'd read about him as well - an interesting and extreme character indeed.
