The Red Garden is a hawker market that was near the hotel I was staying in-lots of good food options.
My default food choice, chicken rice.
Spicy chicken satay.
Some options I passed over (I see I cut off the main title: Frog Porrige).

I suspect the 'cheap' prices you enjoyed there were still way over local prices. If you're Chinese, Indian or Malay looking then I think you get a lot cheaper still, so long as you are away from the main tourist areas and try not to talk too much.

Well this was a hawker center in the center of town with fixed prices-perhaps a more local stall could be cheaper, but I didn't venture off the beaten track too much this time.
