All of the following were in the NY Times Books section and are potential future reads for me:
There's a new short story collection from Jim Shepard-who writes painstakingly researched historical short stories and heartfelt coming of age stories, his new collection is called You think That's Bad.
Canadian David Bezmozgis, known for his excellent short story collection Natasha and Other Stories, has his first novel out: The Free World.
Dwight Garner reviews quirky Geoff Dyer's latest eclectic and interesting sounding essay collection, Otherwise Known As The Human Condition.
James Jones' most famous novel, From Here To Eternity, is going to be released in an uncensored version. Ever since I read an essay where Joan Didion was reading it while on vacation in Hawaii I've wanted to read it. Perhaps, I 'll get the uncensored electronic edition.
Then there's a fairly glowing review from Kakutani (a DFW champion of times past) of the posthumous David Foster Wallace novel The Pale King.
Then there's a new biography that shows Gandhi warts and all that is causing a controversy in India.
