An Education

I was interested in reading Lynn Barber’s memoir, An Education, after reading about how Nick Hornby got the rights and wrote a screenplay for a film version of her story of being seduced as a high school student by an older married man. I haven’t had the chance to see the film yet, however I have heard it was very well-done, but I did get the chance to read Barber’s short book, which was very interesting. I suppose her teenage seduction might have been enough of a story but she has had several other interesting educations throughout her life: working for Penthouse magazine in it’s infancy, success as a journalist on Fleet Street in London, her marriage to her husband David and his untimely death.
