When I read Cormac McCarthy's No Country For Old Men, I immediatley thought it would make a great film-I even questioned whether or not it was McCarthy's plan to have it adapted since it was his first novel with the laconic and economical writing style that is in opposition to his old verbose Faulknerian style seen in the Border triology. It also seemed very visual in the descriptions throughout. I would have never guessed that it would be made by two of my favorite film makers: the Cohen Brothers. The buzz from Cannes was good and this trailer-even better. I can't wait to see it.
It looks kind of like a big budget Blood Simple. I can't wait.
