This week's Time Asia has a cover story on the under use of Japanese women in business. You always see articles bemoaning the lack of workers to populate the work force in the near future as birth rates plummet, but you rarely see the solution being sold as bringing women into the workforce. I think there will be a need for a daycare infrastructure to care for children as more women take a prominent role in the work force-there are precious few facilities and few women who continue to work after marriage-let alone after child birth. I think there's no disputing the fact that women will have to be utilized in the near future.
