While on vacation I picked up the June/July issue of The Believer devoted to music. There were some interesting articles and interviews with the likes of Beck, Aimee Mann, Smoosh, Karen O., etc...as well as a CD enclosed with cover songs and B-sides by several contemporary indie bands. There were 17 tracks and I think I liked only 7 of them, but hey...I was going to buy the issue based on the content alone. The standouts for me were: "Why I Didn't Like August 93" a cover of an Elevator to Hell song by The Constantines, "Fistful of Love" a cover of Antony & The Johnsons song by Devendra Banhart, "Be Kind to Me" a cover of a Michael Hurley song by Vetiver, and "We Will Become Silhouettes" a cover of The Postal Service song by The Shins.
