Last week I met a friend in Nakameguro and we ended up at the Claska Hotel, which is a botique hotel that has been getting a lot of press in magazines and what not-so naturally I wanted to see it. There was an event going on, however I didn't have access to it, and I didn't get to see any of the rooms and there was a 20 minute+ wait for tables in the lounge, which is much smaller than I imagined. It's not really close to any train stations either, so it's difficult to get to. I guess exclusivity is half of the hipness quotient. I'd have to say that my intial reaction is "overrated."
yes, I felt the same way when, 2 years ago, I went to the claska hotel just to see how interesting it could be. The lunch was not bad but a bit expensive for the size and quality. After that I went to the gallery space and... no exhibition :(
I didn't felt any good vibes of an hypothetical "emulation between artists" (definition I saw somewhere on the web or in a book, don't remember).
and about your blog, I've just bookmarked it and add the RSS feed :)
