The first "budget hotel booked in Taipei, left much to be desired in May of 2003 during Golden Week. (Posting these pictures in 2013 after talking to a friend who recently visited there, hence the lack of explainations-this is the first trip I used a digital camera)
The business hotel was a much better option.
A closer look at the incense burner in front of the temple.
Still building the 101 building in 2003.
I would like to be the first person to post a comment to your blog ;-)
Nice pics - I expect this is what China should look more like, although I expect nowadays they are trying to add back some traditional influences to their architecture. I've noticed you were less camera shy in those days.

I usually don't like 90% of photos of myself, the last two aren't bad...perhaps I should have taken more photos of Taiwan. My friend had hundreds and he was there two days less than me!

You like those photos because you're 10 years younger! It's hard not to be pleased with how you looked 10 years ago, unless you were into the high fashion of the day, which tends to look pretty silly after 10 years.
