Sadman #7

Phatrick has posted another installment in The Diary Of A Sadman series. Here's a little teaser:

The truth is I don’t, but it’s seven o’clock in the morning and we’re all in a bit of a rush, so I’m probably going to need any help I can get. I tell myself that my wife probably didn’t want to be sedated for her trip to Italy. I hit the play button on the wall and the plasma screen bursts to life. I am watching “Extreme Measures 4,” and the preview clip makes me wonder who in the office is in charge of making the video selections. According to the instructions on the wall, I should be able to change DVDs by pushing a button. Of course it doesn’t work. The first scene involves a woman and a room full of stuffed animals. I’m not even kidding. I’ve heard of this fetish – I swear to God it’s not that I’ve done a lot of porn watching or research, I saw it on an MTV documentary – it’s called “plushy” or “furry.” I can’t remember which. One involves stuffed animals, and the other people who dress up in cartoon-like animal costumes like sports mascots. The woman is nude and writhing on the bed with the animals. Whatever this fetish is called, I can now say for sure that I do not have it.

Huey Lewis and the Developmentally Disabled

I've added another link to my sidebar for my old friend Eric's blog, The Concrete Donkey. He has a link (the post on Friday August 6th) to a great story about Huey Lewis and the News and their popularity among the developmentally disabled community, among other interesting posts-check it out.

Day Laborer

Phatrick has a new post in his series "Diary of A Sadman."  Truth is often stranger than fiction-apparently this story has no fabrications.

Diary Of A Sadman 5

"Diary of a Sadman Installment 5: Sex, Drugs and the Doctor's Office" is up at Phatrick's blog Almost. Another entertaining tale of a 30 something's struggle with life. Here's a teaser:

I want to avoid personal details here – a strange goal, I admit, given my subject. Let’s just say that my wife and I have been trying to do something for the past year and a bit, but have been unable. Well, “do” is not exactly the right word. We have been able to “do it,” we just have not been able bring about the result that is supposed to naturally follow, a result that 16 year olds seem able to achieve without any effort, forethought or planning on prom nights across the country. I’ll make it plain: we’ve been trying to have a baby, and so far it’s not working.

Weblogs: Read & Referred

One of the features of Typepad is that I can see where my weblog is referred from and see how many hits I get a day. It started out being about 55 hits a day and now I'm down to about 44 a day. Perhaps I should send out updates via my personal email. Actually, a few people suggested that I should do it. It wouldn't be that hard, I'll just make a mailing list land send out updates once a week-so let me know if you want to be on it (so send me an email or click on the "email me" link to contact me).

Anyway, I thought I'd present links to websites that refer to my website, websites that are associated to webrings that I belong to that have referred to me, and weblogs that I read.

Referrers: (My blog guru Dave's blog) optica8, Savemefromtears, Ureshiidesu, and Gme (the others are on my links list).

Referrers from web rings: Japan Live, octopus dropkick, and heatshimmer.

Blogs I usually read these days: Jean Snow and Groovevisual Diary.

New Features

If you notice there is a new color scheme on the template and to the left the links are more obvious. I've been keeping this blog since July of 2003, and if you want to go back that far you have to click the archives link to get there. Also you can now see posts linked according to category, which I have just started since this month. I am trying to figure out how to maintain the integrity of the pictures on the blog because if I post them larger they get compressed, so hopefully I'll keep tweaking this site until I get it where I want. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I enjoy making it.

Diary of A Sadman

Me and my blog get a mention in my friend Pat Okell's blog (see 11:35 am). Incidently check out the other posts, he is much funnier than me and a better writer as well.
