There's a river that is lined with cherry blossom trees starting from Kakio station which is a 15 minute walk from our apartment toward the other Odakyu line that intersects with Shinyurigaoka. Today I walked there to see the cherry blossoms and it was pretty impressive
Shinyurigaoka is the closest major station to us in Kurihira and it has a lot of shopping and the gym I use, Tipness. Recently there was a renewal of the the station that included a new Tully's coffe shop and Kaldi Coffee Farm, which has a lot of import goods.
This river (?, stream? flood water run off?), the Katagawa, is located behind my apartment and adjacent to a walking/jogging path. This is an example of the over-concretization of Japan that pours more concrete each year than America despite being the size of Montana.
Here's a beautifual old house on the North side of Satskidai station, one stop before Kurihira on the Tama Odakyu line.
This temple is at Kurihira not far from our apartment. There are lots of funerals here on the weekends.
There's some nice landscaping outside the temple.
Here are some Jizo (guardian of children) statues infornt of the temple, a common sight in Japan.
This house next door to our apartment building in Kurihira has beautifully sculpted landscaping and an impressive garden in the back.
The Sanyo Garden Riding Club is literally 500 meters away from our apaprtment. You can walk over and wach the horses and riders. And there's a pony you pet and feed as well, as you can see fromt he picture above.

The Kawasaki Frontale football club practice facility is nearby our new apartment as the sign suggests.
This is our neighborhood Shinto shrine, Kurimikage, which is just down the road from our apartment. I expect we'll visit it during New Year's Day this year.
