My Tuscan day trip was to Siena. It was supposedly founded by Senius the son of Remus and brother of Romulus who were raised by a wolf (there are several statues in the city depicting this).
Piazza del Campo.
Minestrone soup (one of my favorites) and a mixed salad for lunch.
The Duomo in Siena.
