There was a lot of praise surrounding Pedro Almodovar’s 2011 film The Skin I Live In. I guess I found the storytelling devices, mainly the flashbacks, the most intriguing thing about the film. Which, overall, seems somewhat far-fetched to me. But it relies on the performances of the three leads of the film: Antonio Banderas, as the heart broken master surgeon, Elena Anaya as his creation Vera Cruz, and Jan Cornet as the mixed –up young man who makes a grave error at a party. That being said there are some great locations, cinematography, and music used throughout the film.
