I have become a fan of The Walking Dead TV series and now while in hiatus for the fourth season I decided to read the comics from which it was created, starting with The Walking Dead: Comepndium One (2009) by Robert Kirkman, Cliff Rathburn, and Tony Moore. It is a highly original zombie story, which is why one can see why it was optioned to be a TV series. However, I have found the comic to much more violent, dark, and brutal. Obviously, many of these aspect are too much for the average TV viewer, however, I think the TV show captures the spirit of the comic in that major characters are routinely killed and overall there is a bleak overview to life among zombies. I worry somewhat that I will be spoiling myself for the show since many of th eplotlines are taken fronm the comics, however, not all fo them, thank good the comics didn't linger on the farm for several epsiodes like the the TV show did in season two when I almsot stopped watching the show. All in all, I find the conmics well written with great drawings. So I will continue on with Conmpendim Two, at the risk of spoiling the show for myself.
