The Invisible War (2012) directed by Kirby Dick looks at how the bureaucracy of the military fails to address justice in rape cases. Just one of the many problems with being in the military, one that is analogous with military personnel in Japan where remembers of the military rape, kill, and commit other crimes only to be given military prosecution rather than at the hands of the local law enforcement agencies. Several personal cases are highlighted as well as a number of talking head experts and damning statistics drive the points home. However, this one does seems to have somewhat of a happy ending in that after current Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta changed military policy two days after seeing the film-taking control of prosecuting rape cases away from commanding officers.
